Growing up in Northeast Ohio, Tayna spent her time either reading or exploring outdoors. The hours she spent hiking with her family instilled a deep love of nature, and a desire to spend her life working to care for the environment. She is currently attending Lorain County Community College, as part of the Sustainable Agriculture Program. She is particularly interested in permaculture, carbon farming, bee keeping, and improving food access networks in her community. She lives in Oberlin with her husband, daughter, and their dogs, cats, chickens and ducks. In her free time, she loves to read, camp, garden, and watch horror movies.
