You can’t go wrong when adding bacon to a dish – and this dish was no exception. This simple combination of green beans, onions, and bacon is sure to delightfully accompany any and all main dishes!

Ingredients:

2 lbs. Green Beans, cut into 1-inch pieces with ends removed

8 strips Bacon, diced

1/2 cup Onion, sliced

3 tbsp. Butter or Olive Oil

Salt to taste

Pepper to taste
Method:
- Cook Bacon: Heat a large skillet or sauté pan over medium heat; add the diced bacon. Fry the bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon to paper towels to drain. Leave your desired amount of bacon drippings in the pan.
- Boil Green Beans: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil over high heat and then add the beans. Boil for about 8 to 12 minutes, or until the desired doneness is reached. Drain the green beans well.
- Add onions to skillet with bacon fat and cook for 5-10 minutes. Add green beans to the skillet along with the cooked bacon and the butter. Toss well and heat until the green beans are thoroughly coated and hot.
- Sprinkle the green beans with freshly ground black pepper and salt, to taste. Serve with your choice entrée and ENJOY!
