SNAP and Produce Perks

SNAP farmers’ market customers receive up to $25 in FREE fruits and vegetables through Produce Perks! Produce Perks matches SNAP purchases dollar-for-dollar up to $25 per visit.

Farmers Markets Produce Perks

How it Works:

  1. Visit any of our participating Farmers’ Markets & stores (see “Where to Shop” below)
  2. Swipe your Ohio Direction/SNAP card for the amount you wish to spend
  3. Receive $1 tokens to spend on any SNAP eligible foods at the market
  4. Receive additional FREE Produce Perks tokens to (up to $25 match) to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables

Example: If you visit the market and swipe your SNAP/EBT card for $25, you’ll receive $50 worth of Produce Perks tokens. The first $25 that you purchased on SNAP can be spent on any SNAP eligible foods and the additional $25 in Produce Perks tokens can be spent on fresh fruits and vegetables.

 

Eligible Items:

SNAP Eligible Foods Produce Perks Eligible Foods
All food items other than prepared, ready-to-eat foods Fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, and edible plants (ex. a tomato plant)

Where to Shop:

Produce Perks is available throughout the state of Ohio including all Countryside-supported locations. Find a location near you: 

Summit & Portage County

Medina County

Stark County

Additional Notes on Tokens

Produce Perks tokens are valid at any listed market. SNAP tokens are only valid at the market where they were purchased. SNAP tokens never expire; Produce Perks tokens do not expire, but are grant supported and subject to the availability of funds.
